Network meeting 2023 – Blühender Campus FU Berlin

Our second in-person meeting was hosted by the Blühender Campus initiative at Freie Universität Berlin, which was led by Sophie Lokatis at the time. Besides spending some cool hours in the leafy arbor and engaging in lively discussions indoors, the main focus was on exploring the campus. The initiative has taken over the maintenance of some of the green spaces and has made them more extensive. In some cases, mowing is even limited to once every two years to give all insects time to reproduce. Smaller areas were enriched with regional wild flower seeds. We took action with the maintenance – we tackled the couch grass to provide more space for the flowering herbs.

The many uniquely and creatively designed signs in the flower beds were impressively beautiful.
